Know the waterproof grade of inline fuse holder (IP67) | HINEW

Inline fuse holder waterproof level at the same time also reflects the instrument moisture-proof and dustproof ability, especially for outdoor circuits, inevitably in the high humidity or dust in the harsh environment, inline fuse holder sealing and waterproof ability to ensure the safe operation and life of the instrument is very important.

Many customers are not very clear about the waterproofing grade standard when choosing lead fuse holder.Therefore, the manufacturer of fuse holder explains two standards commonly used in the world (JIS waterproof standard of Japan and IEC529 standard of international electrotechnical commission).

in line fuse holder

Currently, the IEC529 standard developed by the international electrotechnical commission is generally used by more people.It is usually marked with IP65,IP67, etc.

In order to adapt to this, Japanese industrial standard JIS will be electronic instruments waterproof protection into 10 levels, respectively to IPX1, IPX2……Said.

Protection level Kind of class Containing righteousness
0 No protection
1 Drip-proof type I Falling water droplets have no harmful effects
2 Drip-proof type II Drops falling in a 15 “vertical direction have no harmful effects
3 Rain type With the vertical direction into a 60 degree range of rainfall without harmful effects
4 Splash proof It is not harmful to splash water in any direction
5 The jet type Direct spray of water in any direction is not harmful
6 Water resistant type Either way, the spray of water directly into the interior will not enter
7 The immersion type Under the specified conditions even if immersed in water will not enter the interior
8 Water medium It can be used even if immersed in water at a certain pressure for a long time
9 The wet The product can still be used under the condition of relative humidity over 90%

The IP grade of international industry standard waterproof and JIS waterproof grade of Japanese industry standard are close, grade 9 of cent 0-8,IP grade also made provision to dustproof.

IP xx dustproof and waterproof grade

Dust-proof grade (the first X represents) water-proof grade (the second X represents)

0: no protection

1: prevent large solid invasion

2: prevent medium size solid invasion

3: prevent small solids from entering and invading

4: prevent solid objects larger than 1mm from entering

5: prevent harmful dust accumulation

6: completely prevent dust from entering

0: no protection

1: water drops into the shell will not affect

2: when the shell tilts to 15 degrees, water drops into the shell will not affect

3: water or rain from the 60 degree corner to the lead fuse holder housing is not affected

4: liquid from any direction into the shell without damage

5: rinse with water without any damage

6: can be used in the cabin environment

7: water resistant in a short time (1m)

8: water for a long time under a certain pressure

Example: some electronic switches are labeled IP65, indicating that the product can completely prevent dust from entering and can be washed with water without any harm.

Japanese industrial standard JIS/IPXX grade on waterproof test provisions.

(1) IPX 1

Method name: vertical dripping test

Test equipment: drip test device

Sample placement: the sample shall be placed on the rotating sample table at the normal working position at 1r/min, and the distance from the top of the sample to the drip outlet shall not be greater than 200mm

Test condition: drop water amount is 10.5 mm/min

Duration: 10 min

(2) IPX 2

Method name: water drop test at tilt of 15°

Test equipment: drip test device

Sample placement: make one surface of the sample at a 15° Angle to the perpendicular line, and the distance from the top of the sample to the drain shall not be greater than 200mm.After testing one side, change the other side four times.

Test condition: drop water amount is 30.5 mm/min

Duration: 4×2.5 min (total 10 min)

(3) IPX 3

Method name: water spraying test

Test methods:

A.Pendulum tube spray test

Test equipment: swing tube water splashing test device

Sample placement: select the appropriate radius of the swing tube so that the height of the sample table is in the position of the swing tube diameter. Place the sample on the sample table so that the distance from its top to the sample nozzle is no more than 200mm and the sample table does not rotate.

Test conditions: the water flow rate is calculated according to the number of spray holes in the pendulum tube, and each hole is 0.07 L/min. When spraying water, the water jet holes in each 60° arc on both sides of the middle point of the pendulum pipe sprayed the sample.The test sample is placed in the center of the semicircle of the pendulum tube.The pendulum tube swings 60° on each side of the vertical line, making a total of 120°.Each oscillation (2×120°) is about 4s

Test time: continuous watering for 10 min

B.Sprinkler test

Test equipment: handheld water splashing test device

Sample placement: make the parallel distance from the top of the test to the nozzle of the hand-held nozzle between 300mm and 500mm

Test conditions: baffle with balancing weight shall be installed during the test, and the water flow shall be 10 L/min

Test time: 1 min per square meter (excluding installation area), at least 5 min, calculated according to the surface area of tested sample shell

(4) IPX 4

Method name: splash test

Test methods:

A.Pendulum splashing test

Test equipment and sample placement: same as IPX 3 type a above;

Test conditions: the same as IPX 3 type a, except the following conditions;The water spraying area is the sample sprayed by the water spraying hole in each 90° arc on both sides of the middle point of the pendulum tube.The test sample is placed in the center of the semicircle of the pendulum tube.The pendulum tube swings 180° along both sides of the perpendicular, about 360° in total.Each oscillation (2×360°) is about 12s

Test time: same as IPX 3 type a above (i.e. 10 min).

B.Spray test

Test equipment and sample placement: same as IPX 3 b above;

Test conditions: remove the baffle with balancing weight installed on the equipment, and the rest shall be the same as IPX 3 type b above;

Test time: same as the above IPX 3 type b, i.e., 1 min per square meter (excluding installation area), at least 5min, calculated according to the surface area of tested sample shell

(5) IPX 5

Method name: water spray test

Test equipment: the inner diameter of the nozzle is 6.3 mm

Test conditions: make the distance between the test sample and the water nozzle 2.5m ~ 3m, water flow is 12.5 L/min (750 L/h)

Test time: 1 min per square meter (excluding installation area), at least 3 min, calculated according to surface area of tested sample shell

(6) IPX 6

Method name: intense water spraying test;

Test equipment: the inner diameter of the nozzle is 12.5 mm

Test conditions: make the distance between the test sample and the water nozzle 2.5m ~ 3m, water flow of 100 L/min (6000 L/h)

Test time: 1 min per square meter (excluding installation area), at least 3 min, calculated according to surface area of tested sample shell

(7) IPX 7

Method name: short-term immersion test

Test equipment and test conditions: immersion tank.The size of the sample shall be such that the bottom of the sample shall be at least 1m from the surface of the water after the sample is placed in the immersion tank.The distance from the top of the sample to the water surface is at least 0.15 m.

Test time: 30 min

(8) IPX 8

Method name: continuous diving test;

Note: many outdoor electronics also emphasize the ability to float.IP69K metal waterproof and pressure-resistant inline fuse holder grade standard test equipment, test conditions and test time: agreed by the supply and demand (buyer and seller), its severity should be higher than IPX 7.
